How to Get Paid to Market a Company's Product

You can get paid to market a company’s product by joining an affiliate marketing program that pays you a commission for sending potential customers to the other company’s website. 
The company pays you commission if the visitor that you send makes a purchase or takes some other action that the company requires such as subscribing to a newsletter or simply providing a lead. 
This represents a form of payment by results. Your role in the process is to create online content that will attract the type of visitors who will be interested in the other company’s products or services.

      Find an affiliate program that markets products or services relevant to your own area of interest. If you write a newsletter or run a website about home improvements, for example, look for affiliate programs from suppliers or retailers of home improvement products, interior designers, builders, or finance companies offering home improvement loans. Look for suitable programs on the Internet by searching on a term such as “affiliate program directories.”

      Check the terms and conditions of the program. Find out the action you have to take to link your content to the other company’s website. You may have to place a banner advertisement on your website or online newsletter. Some programs only require you to place a hyperlink to the company’s website on your content. Check the action visitors have to take to generate a commission for you. As well as paying commission on sales, some programs pay if visitors complete a survey, download a trial version of a product, or respond to a promotional offer. Verify the amount of commission you will receive for each successful action by the visitor.

      Add the banner advertisements or links to your online content. Develop content targeted at visitors who are likely to click through to the other company’s website. Market your own content to build traffic and maximize opportunities to earn commission. Keep adding fresh content to maintain traffic to the site. The more time and effort you put into building the right type of traffic, the higher your potential return.

      Review the reports on successful clicks and compare them with the type of content that generated the clicks. The hyperlinks and banner advertisements have an embedded code that identifies the source of the click. The other company or an independent agency tracks and records the clicks and subsequent actions to calculate the commission due to each affiliate. Identify the content that generated the highest number of clicks and concentrate on building your expertise in that area.
