Holoweb Browser beta, designed to smoke the competition
Holoweb is another web browser to add to the selection already available for your device. This one however is only a small file to download and won’t take up much of your precious storage space.
At the moment Holoweb is only in beta testing so the version I tried is by no means what will end up in the playstore, all the same from what I’ve seen so far it looks pretty nice. Because it’s only in beta right now I found very little anywhere in the way of instructions for it so basically I tapped every icon to see what happened.
Open it up and you’re presented with a smart looking grid style UI with a search bar at the top. The boxes seem to be suggestions for various websites with the option to add them to your own bookmarks by clicking on them and then tapping the icon at the bottom of the screen with lines on it, which by the way opens your own bookmarks from the main screen. The search bar is pretty standard and quite fast to bring up the pages for you. It does however have an odd little icon on the right hand side that looks like it should be a way to send links, I could be wrong there, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Again I could be wrong but with no instructions I can’t tell. Also the icons at the bottom of the screen, 2 arrows, a + sign and an x don’t seem to function at the moment.
For an app that is in early days of beta testing Holoweb is pretty nice looking and speed wise compares well to most browsers I’ve tried. I’m sure the developers will have loads more goodies to add to this before it reaches the playstore.
